Word status and Weekly Report
Track spelling progress word by word and week by week
Two questions come up every week: which words does my child still miss, and are we practicing enough? Snap Spell answers the first in each list and the second in the Weekly Report.
Free to start: 2 word lists of up to 100 words each. Pro: US$2.99/month, US$19.99/year or US$29.99 once (UK £2.99/£19.99/£29.99; Australia A$4.99/A$29.99/A$49.99).
Snap Spell
Can I see which spelling words my child has learned?
Yes. Every word in a list shows its status, To Study, Practicing, or Mastered, and the list shows how many of its words are mastered. The Weekly Report adds up the last 7 days of practice for the current profile.
What each status means
Status changes as your child practices, so you never have to keep score yourself.
To Study
Every new word starts here, before it has been practiced.
Practicing
Missed, or right only after a second try. These are the words to come back to.
Mastered
Right on the first try in Solo Test, set to Mastered by you in Practice Together, or marked right in Auto Dictation.
The Weekly Report
It shows the days practiced, the words practiced, and the share of right answers over the last 7 days, next to the week before. Share Report sends it as an image. With Pro, the report also lists the hardest words this week, and See All Words and Past Weeks shows how each word is going and earlier weeks.
Let status pick the next round
Choose Most missed first before a Solo Test, and the words your child got wrong most recently come up first. If you know better than the app, open a word in the list and set its status yourself, for example back to Practicing before a test.
Questions about progress
Can a Mastered word go back to Practicing?
Yes. If your child misses it in a later round, it moves back to Practicing, and it can return to Mastered when it is right again.
Can I send the report to a teacher or grandparent?
Yes. Share Report saves the week as an image you can send in Messages, Mail, or any app on your iPhone.
